🐱 130+ Cats Found in Wildwood Home
In Wildwood this week, a routine welfare check turned into an extraordinary discovery. A large home on Country Trails Court was found to be housing more than 130 cats. Animal Control officers were brought in and have been on-sight all week. The discovery came after the homeowner's daughter, living out of state, raised concerns about her elderly parents' well-being.

👮 Ellisville PD Gets Eye-Catching Upgrade
Ellisville's police department recently received a generous donation from local business Popticals. The company provided 38 pairs of high-tech safety sunglasses to enhance officer protection. These glasses have already proven their worth during a training session, where they successfully deflected a potentially harmful shell.
🏠 Senior Tax Freeze: Relief on the Horizon
St. Louis County is preparing to (finally) launch its senior citizen property tax credit program. This initiative will freeze certain real estate taxes for qualifying residents aged 62 and older who own their homes. The county advises eligible seniors to visit their website for information on required documents and to prepare for the upcoming application process.

As Friday night lights illuminate local fields, high schools are scrambling to find enough referees. Schedulers are reaching out to neighboring districts to fill the gaps in officiating crews. This week Chesterfield's Elementary School Resource Officer, Celia Saavedra, hosted Pops with Cops at Shenandoah Valley Elementary. Kindergarteners learned about when to use 911 and what police officers do. The event included a look inside patrol cars and ended with popsicles for the young participants.

🔨 Open House for Dielmann Complex Improvements
Creve Coeur officials are looking to improve the Dielmann Recreation Complex. They're inviting residents to an open house next week on September 11 to share plans and gather feedback. 🌊 Eureka Secures Deals for Floodwall Project

The Town & Country Police Department and Maryville University are collaborating to provide a free women's self-defense course. The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) program begins this fall, teaching practical techniques to enhance safety skills. The course is open to females aged 16 and up, with registration required by September 17th via email.

📚 Wildwood History Book Signing Event
Jill VonGruben, author of Celebrate the History of Wildwood, MO, will be signing books at this year's Celebrate Wildwood festival. Her work, which took nearly eight years to complete, covers the area's history from prehistoric times to 2022. Attendees can purchase the book at a discount: $5 off paperback and $10 off hardcover editions.

🚔 Valley Park Adds New Police Officer
Valley Park's police force has a new addition. Officer Blake, with 13 years of experience in the St. Louis County Police Department, has joined the local detail.
