🚜 Six-Month Process to Remove Chesterfield Mall
The Chesterfield Mall's demolition process begins tomorrow (October 15th), using specialized equipment to dismantle the 1.3 million-square-foot structure over six months. The demolition will start near the former Cheesecake Factory entrance. Crews will use machinery with claw attachments to pull down sections gradually. 🏭 Vacant Lots Get Second Chance in STL County
St. Louis County is on a mission to breathe new life into North County. The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority is seeking proposals for two vacant sites totaling 43 acres. With prime locations near Clayton, University City, and Lambert Airport, these properties are poised for a comeback. Developers have until December 13 to submit their ideas for purchasing and revitalizing the land.
🍿 Movie Nights Return to Chesterfield’s The Hub STL
The Hub STL in Chesterfield is bringing movie nights back to the community. Three films are scheduled for the coming months: "Hocus Pocus" in October, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in November, and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in December.

🛒 Schnucks' Local Food Program Paused
Schnucks' Local Grab and Go program has encountered regulatory challenges. State officials now require food manufacturing licenses from participating restaurants. This change has forced some local restaurants to temporarily exit the program. 🐾 Mercy & Stray Rescue Join Forces
Mercy Health and Stray Rescue recently collaborated on a community event called Pints and Pups. The initiative allowed blood donors to meet shelter animals available for adoption. This dual-purpose event aimed to address the overcrowding at Stray Rescue's shelter while also helping to maintain adequate blood supplies for local medical needs.
Two groups in the St. Louis community teamed up to save lives and find forever homes for shelter animals.

🏢 Local Investor Bids on Bankrupt STL Brewery
Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. may have found a path forward out of bankruptcy. Ladue-based Keg Holdings LLC has made a $2.55 million offer to purchase the bankrupt St. Louis brewer. This potential acquisition could keep the brewery operational, despite its current financial struggles. Urban Chestnut owes approximately $4 million in unpaid loans, with half coming from federal COVID-19 relief funds.
🔌 Ameren Upgrades Power Pole Infrastructure
Ameren Missouri is upgrading 10,000 power poles annually as part of a $12.4 billion grid improvement plan. These poles, made from Yellow Pine and Douglas Fir trees, play a crucial role in our electrical system. Sourced from various regions, they ensure power flows consistently to homes and businesses across the area. Fox 2 did a story last week showing where the poles come from.

Chesterfield's Fall Festival is back for its third year this Saturday (October 19th). From 1-6pm, the Chesterfield Amphitheater will host a variety of free activities. Families can enjoy live music, carnival rides, and a petting zoo. It's a community celebration of autumn you won't want to miss.

🛣️ Overnight Paving on Lindbergh Blvd
MoDOT has announced a new paving project in Creve Coeur beginning today. The 12-day operation will focus on Lindbergh Boulevard, from the Page underpass to Conway Road. Workers will lay a single lift of asphalt during night hours, aiming to improve road conditions with minimal traffic impact.

The Creve Coeur City Council has scheduled a Ward 2 town hall meeting for October 16th at 7:00pm. 🏖️ Famous-Barr's Historic Eureka Resort
Over the weekend the Eureka Historical Society shared a fascinating tidbit of local lore. From 1910 to 1942, Famous-Barr operated a 125-acre employee resort in Eureka. This expansive getaway featured cabins, a swimming pool, and even its own church. At its heart stood a grand two-story building, complete with multiple dining rooms and a sprawling screened porch.
