⚕️ Medical Clinic Proposed at YMCA

This week the Chesterfield City Council heard a proposal from the Gateway Region YMCA to include a medical clinic inside its Chesterfield YMCA facility. The clinic would partner with a health provider to offer convenient daytime care and refer patients to utilize YMCA amenities. A vote for the amended use passed in a vote 8-0.

🏘️ New Homes Coming to Wildwood's Town Center

On Monday, Wildwood’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved Fischer & Frichtel's plan to build 34 single-family homes in the northeast corner of State Routes 100 and 109. The development will feature a scenic lake and pedestrian-friendly spaces. The approval came with conditions to address density, traffic, and noise concerns raised by residents.

🗳️ Absentee Voting Begins for April 2 Election

St. Louis County residents can now request absentee ballots for the April 2 General Municipal Election. The deadline to request a ballot is 5 p.m. on March 20, and voters can cast their ballots in person at the board of elections office or at six satellite sites beginning March 21. Absentee voting will also be available during the two Saturdays before election day, March 23 and March 30, for those who meet one of the six qualifying reasons.

⭐️ W. County Chamber Celebrates New Members

The West County business scene got a little brighter this week as the Chamber of Commerce rolled out the red carpet for two new members. The Bank of Houston and St. Croix Hospice celebrated their grand openings with ribbon cutting ceremonies in Wildwood, bringing new financial and healthcare services to the area.

☕️ Eureka's Caffeine Scene Gets a Reboot

This week La Finca Coffee is bidding a bittersweet farewell to their original Eureka location after 5 memorable years. The beloved coffee shop is moving up the street to the space formerly occupied by the recently closed Michelle's restaurant. With inspections happening next week, La Finca is on track to open its doors at the new location very soon, promising the same great sips in a familiar, yet refreshed space.

☕️ Manchester Wins Top Finance Reporting Award

The City of Manchester had something to celebrate this week! They earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. This honor recognized Manchester's commitment to full transparency and clear communication in their 2022 annual financial report. An independent panel gave the report top marks for meeting strict standards of disclosure.

🏗️ Eureka City Hall Demolished, Construction Begins

Exciting changes are coming to Eureka. Integrate Construction Partners announced that demolition of the old Eureka City Hall is complete, making way for the new $11.5 million Michael A. Wiegand Justice Center. The modern 30,000-square-foot facility will house the police department, municipal court, and city offices. Construction is set to finish by December 2024.   • Wildlife Rescue Center in Ballwin is hosting a donation drive to help care for the influx of orphaned animals it typically sees this time of year.

  • The Eureka Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 17th annual garage sale in the Six Flags parking lot. This is the biggest event of its kind in the whole midwest!
