🗓️ KMOV's Guide to Juneteenth Events in St. Louis

KMOV has put together a comprehensive list of Juneteenth celebrations happening around St. Louis. ✔️ Page Proposes Plan to Release Pandemic Funds

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page has proposed a plan to release $7.5 million in delayed federal pandemic relief funds to seven nonprofits. The plan would allow the nonprofits to use the money for salaries and small purchases, which have fewer federal requirements. If approved by the County Council, the compromise would end a nearly two-year dispute between Page and Council Chair Shalonda Webb.

🚗 Try to Avoid I-270 South at I-64 June 23-24

MoDOT crews will close up to three southbound lanes of I-270 between Ladue Road and I-64 this weekend for concrete overlay work. The closures will start at 8pm Friday, with all lanes reopening by 5am Monday. Drivers can avoid the area by exiting at Ladue Road or Olive Boulevard and taking alternate routes to I-64.

🏙️ New eBook Service Coming to STL Hotspots

The St. Louis County Library is launching a new eMedia service called ePop Up Library tomorrow. The service will provide users with instant access to a vast collection of eBooks and audiobooks by simply scanning a QR code, without the need for a library card. ePop Up Library will be available at various locations across the St. Louis area, including select bi-state locations, government offices, Metro Transit, Schnucks stores, and St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

🤝 Schnucks, Teamsters Reach Tentative Deal

Schnucks and Local Teamsters 610, representing 129 truck drivers, have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract. Union members will vote on whether to ratify the deal on today at 1pm. The agreement comes after the union previously rejected two offers and threatened to strike if a deal wasn't reached.

West St. Louis County residents may have encountered AI-powered voice ordering at local McDonald's drive-thrus, but the fast-food giant has decided to end the test. The technology, developed by IBM, aimed to streamline operations but led to incorrect orders and amusing mix-ups for customers. With several McDonald's locations in the area, the company's decision to explore alternative voice ordering solutions will likely impact the ordering experience for many local patrons.

Travel back in time with these rare photographs of Valley Park's original wagon bridge over the Meramec River (today’s Route 141). 💦 Friday Fun: Construction-Themed Tot Time

The Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center is hosting a special construction-themed Tot Time this Friday, June 21, from 9:30-11:15am. Kids aged 0-5 can enjoy splashing and playing in the leisure pool for just $5 (residents) or $6 (non-residents), while adults get in for free. It's a great opportunity for little ones to explore a construction theme while making fun memories.

⚾ Chesterfield's Adult Summer Sports Leagues Are Back!

Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex is gearing up for an exciting summer with the return of adult sports leagues. Registration is now open for adult softball league, adult kickball league, and adult flag football league. Teams can secure their spot by registering here.

🏅 Creve Coeur PD Honors Officers, Citizen

The Creve Coeur Police Department held its Quarterly Recognitions event, honoring the exceptional efforts of five officers and one citizen. Detectives Neporadny, McKeon, and Coats were recognized for their excellent detective work, while Officer Burkett was praised for outstanding mutual aid assistance. Officer Kim received the Investigative Support Award, and an anonymous citizen was bestowed with the Citizen Support Award for their contributions to the community.

Manchester Parks and Recreation is offering punch cards for Tot Time and Channel Walking at the Aquatic Center. Each card grants ten visits, providing excellent value for summer pool activities. Parents can enjoy open play with their little ones in the Baby Pool during Tot Time, while Channel Walking offers a low-impact, resistance-based workout for fitness enthusiasts of all levels.

🏙️ Valley Park City Hall Closed for Juneteenth

Valley Park City Hall and all city departments will be closed today in observance of Juneteenth. Normal hours will resume on Thursday. Due to the holiday, yard waste collection will also be postponed to Thursday this week.
