🏗️ Chesterfield 'Downtown' Project Gets Green Light

The Chesterfield City Council has approved a deal with Dillard's, settling a lawsuit and paving the way for the redevelopment of Chesterfield Mall into a new 'downtown' concept. Dillard's will reopen its store, closed since 2016, as part of the $2 billion project, which includes apartments, shops, offices, a hotel, parks, and trails. The city has approved $353 million in tax increment financing for infrastructure improvements in the area.

🛩️ Air Show & STEM Expo Takes Flight This Weekend

The Spirit of St. Louis Airport is hosting a two-day Air Show and STEM Expo this weekend, presented by Boeing. Families can explore aviation displays and participate in hands-on STEM activities throughout the event. The expo aims to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in STEM and aviation. 🛒 Costco Employees Save Shopper's Life in Manchester

A woman's heart stopped while she was shopping at the Costco in Manchester. Three quick-thinking Costco employees performed CPR and used an AED to revive the unconscious shopper just as paramedics arrived. The shopper made a full recovery, and the heroic Costco employees were honored by West County EMS for their life-saving actions.

🍩 Daylight Donuts: Free Raised Ring on Friday

🐱 Imo's Covers Adoption Fees at Stray Rescue

For the eighth consecutive year, Imo's Pizza is partnering with Stray Rescue St. Louis to waive adoption fees for dogs and cats over six months old throughout June. 🆕 Foot Care Center Now Serving Chesterfield

Foot Solutions, a new store specializing in custom orthotics and supportive footwear, recently celebrated its grand opening in Chesterfield. The store caters to a wide range of customers, from young athletes to active seniors, aiming to improve their quality of life through expert foot care. The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce was present at the grand opening celebration to welcome the new business to the community.

🏡 From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving City

June 1, 1988 - The city of Chesterfield was incorporated. There actually were three Chesterfields over the years. Justis Post laid out the first in 1816 near what are now Wild Horse Creek and Wilson Roads. The second sprang up in the early 1900s next to the railroad tracks that ran beside Olive. The third community developed around the Chesterfield Mercantile on Highway 40.

🎢 Flashback: Six Flags Opens on Hog Farm in '71

Six Flags Over Mid-America amusement park opened on June 5, 1971, on a site that was once a hog farm. Six Flags spurred a boom in Eureka but doomed traditional parks such as Chain of Rocks Fun Fair in St. Louis. The park originally had 16 rides and attractions, including “Super Sport Cars on Route 66,” as well as five shows. Now Six Flags St. Louis, it has over 45 rides and features, including nine roller coasters and a huge water park.

Ballwin

🌊 Little Splashers: Exclusive Kiddie Pool Fun!

Ballwin Parks & Recreation is hosting Little Splashers, an exclusive pool playtime for kids aged 6 months to 5 years old and their guardians. The event takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer, offering an hour of fun before the pool opens to the public. The cost is $5 per child for VIPs and $6 for regular attendees, while pool pass holders and members can join for free.

🎸 Free Steamroller Band Concert at New Ballwin Park

The Steamroller Band will perform a free outdoor concert at New Ballwin Park tonight. Attendees should bring their own seating, food, and drinks to enjoy the show. Boy Scout Troop 310 will also be selling ice cream, pretzels, and water as a fundraiser during the event, with extra parking available at Woerther Elementary School.

Chesterfield

🏛️ Historic Committees May Join Forces

The City of Chesterfield is considering consolidating the Chesterfield Heritage Foundation and the Chesterfield Historic and Landmark Preservation Committee into a new independent entity. This move aims to streamline the preservation of the city's history. The city council has also approved a budget to migrate the existing historic web content to a new, externally hosted website, which will align with the city's updated branding and be more user-friendly.

⚾ Chesterfield to Host MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Sat.

Chesterfield will host the MLB’s Pitch, Hit & Run event this Saturday at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex. Kids ages 7-14 will have the opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills in a series of challenges, with a chance to earn a spot to play at the 2024 MLB World Series. Des Peres

🎣 Youth Fishing Derby Casts Off on June 22

The City of Des Peres posted an announcement it will be hosting a Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 22 at Des Peres Park. Kids ages 3-12 can participate in the Longest Fish Contest and most fish caught in each age division. Registration is required by June 16 and costs $12 for members/residents or $15 for non-residents. 🌊 The Edge Aquatic Center Closed Tomorrow

The Ellisville Parks and Recreation Department announced that The Edge Aquatic Center will be closed tomorrow for necessary maintenance work.

🎵 Free Concert at Bluebird Park Amphitheater Tomorrow

Ellisville Parks & Recreation is kicking off their free summer concert series tomorrow at the Bluebird Park Amphitheater. The concert will feature a performance by Common Time Rhythm & Blues from 7pm to 9pm, with food, local artisans, and produce vendors set up starting at 6pm.

Eureka

🎯 Eureka Chamber Sporting Clay Shoot on June 14

The Eureka Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Sporting Clay Shoot event next week on June 14, 2024, at the St. Louis Skeet & Trap Club in Pacific. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 AM, with a shotgun start at 1 PM. Participants can register individually or in teams of up to 5 shooters, and a limited number of gun rentals are available. 🩸 Manchester Blood Drive: Donate & Save Lives!

The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive on Friday from 10am to 3pm. The event will take place at the Manchester Justice Center. Residents are encouraged to participate and donate blood to help save lives.

🎵 Manchester's Free Beatles Tribute Concert

Ticket to the Beatles, a talented Beatles tribute band, will transport audiences back to the era of the Fab Four during a free concert at Schroeder Park this Friday. The Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Amphitheater will serve as the backdrop for an evening of iconic songs and community gathering.

Twin Oaks

🏙️ Twin Oaks Welcomes New City Clerk April Milne

Twin Oaks has hired April Milne as the new City Clerk following the departure of Frank Johnson. Milne, who holds a Master's in Public Administration, previously served as a Twin Oaks Alderman and brings a deep understanding of the community to her new role. Mayor Russ Fortune expressed confidence in Milne's ability to maintain transparency and efficiency in local government operations.

Wildwood

🌱 YMCA Launches Youth Master Gardener Program

The Wildwood YMCA is offering a Youth Master Gardener Program on June 15, 22, 29, and August 7. Kids will learn plant classification, garden planning, and how to grow fruits and vegetables in fun lessons and activities. The program costs $60 per participant and will take place at the Family YMCA.
