⚾ Chesterfield to Host MLB’s Pitch, Hit & Run in June
Chesterfield announced it is inviting kids aged 7-14 to participate its edition of the MLB’s Pitch, Hit & Run competition on June 8. Young baseball and softball enthusiasts can showcase their skills on the diamond for a chance to compete in the Championships at the 2024 MLB World Series. Register / learn more here.
📉 Area Schools See Fewer Kids
The St. Louis region saw a 10% decline in the under-18 population between 2010 and 2022, leading to falling enrollment in over half of the area's school districts. Declining birth rates and varying housing costs across the region have contributed to uneven enrollment trends. Experts suggest that attracting young families will be crucial to addressing these demographic shifts. Read more here.
🗺️ Wildwood: A Giant Among STL County Cities
Fox News published a brief analysis of area city sizes, and they noted that Wildwood is the largest city in St. Louis County by land area, covering an impressive 66.68 square miles. That's nearly triple the size of almost every other municipality in the county, and even bigger than the City of St. Louis itself.
📚 Free Comic Books at SLCL on May 4th
On Saturday, the St. Louis County Library will be participating in Free Comic Book Day from 9am to 5pm. Visit your local SLCL branch to get a free comic book from a variety of titles suitable for all ages, while supplies last.

🌐 Town and Country Firm Explores Global Options
According to a Bloomberg report, Town and Country-based digital consultancy Perficient Inc. is exploring a potential sale. The company, which reported $907 million in revenue for 2023, is said to be working with advisers to gauge buyer interest from private equity firms and other consulting companies. Learn more here.

🎂 Ballwin PD Marked 60th Anniversary in April
In April, the Ballwin Police Department celebrated its 60th anniversary. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to keeping the streets of Ballwin safe and providing assistance to the community whenever needed. Checkout their celebratory photo collage here.

🍩 Donuts, Coffee, and Conversation with the Mayor
Mayor Robert Hoffman is hosting the next Coffee with the Mayor event tomorrow at 7:30am. The event will take place at the Creve Coeur Government Center. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share their comments in an open forum setting. Complimentary coffee and donuts will be provided.

👮♂️ Community Policing at Its Finest in Ellisville
The Ellisville Elementary PTO organized a special opportunity for students this year. Select students participated in a Ride Along and Breakfast event a few times with Officer George from the Ellisville Police Department. This unique experience allowed students to learn more about local law enforcement while enjoying a delicious breakfast together.

🎥 Movie Magic Under the Stars at Twin Oaks Park
The Twin Oaks Park Committee is inviting families and friends for a special Movie Night in the Park next week on May 10th. The featured film will be "The Princess Bride," shown on a giant outdoor screen.
Wildwood
🎨 10th Annual Plein Air Art Event in Wildwood
The city of Wildwood is hosting its 10th Annual Plein Air Art Event this Saturday. Artists and photographers will capture special locations in the city, starting at Wildwood City Hall. Participation fees range from $10 to $50, with lunch provided and awards given in various categories, including Best of Show and Student Awards. Learn more here.
🍵 Join Mayor Bowlin for Coffee and Conversation
Wildwood residents are invited to join Mayor Bowlin for coffee, treats, and conversation tomorrow at 7:30am. This will be the last coffee hosted by the outgoing mayor, providing an opportunity to say thank you and discuss city projects and initiatives.
