🚧 County Declares Flood Emergency
St. Louis County officials are actively responding to widespread flooding today. County Executive Sam Page declared a state of emergency yesterday as the Meramec River continues to rise. The river is expected to crest at 34.8 feet tonight, with flooding impacts anticipated through Saturday across multiple West County communities.
The impacts are already visible, with Eureka High School's parking lot underwater and the Al Foster Memorial Trailhead closed in Wildwood.
Major traffic disruptions are also in effect, as MoDOT has closed Route 141 under I-44 in both directions. Southbound traffic is being detoured to westbound I-44, while northbound drivers must use eastbound I-44. Alternative routes include I-270, Route 100, Route 21, and Route 30. The closure, including the nearby commuter lot, is expected to last through the weekend.

The police department is offering a comprehensive two-day R.A.D. training course, teaching women proven self-defense techniques against various types of assault. 🦌 Wildwood's Deer Plan: Take Two
Wildwood is doubling down on its deer management efforts. The city council approved a $267,784 contract with White Buffalo Inc. to remove 355 deer from northeast Wildwood this winter. The program will target areas near Spirit of St. Louis Airport and neighborhoods bordering Ellisville, where deer populations have reached up to 95 deer per square mile.
