🍽️ Officers Trade Badges for Aprons at Fundraiser

Last week Manchester police officers participated in an annual fundraiser at Tucker's Place restaurant to support Special Olympics Missouri. The officers served as waiters for the evening, with a portion of the night's sales going to the cause. This tradition, which began in 2007, has raised over $180,000 to date. 🗳️ County Leaders Clash Over Federal Funds

A public dispute between St. Louis County Executive Sam Page and Council Chair Shalonda Webb has escalated over the release of $8 million in federal pandemic relief funds promised to local nonprofits. Page is withholding the money until the County Council reverses budget cuts from last year, while Webb accuses Page of playing politics with the grants. If the funds aren't used by year's end, they may be returned to the federal government. Read more here.

🚌 Metro Transit Mulls Limiting Call-A-Ride Booking

Metro Transit is considering reducing its Call-A-Ride booking service to just the day before a scheduled ride. Currently, customers can reserve trips up to three days in advance, or five days on Fridays. Metro officials believe this change could reduce canceled rides and improve efficiency. The proposed change, if implemented, would take effect after July 1.

🥛 Prairie Farms Launches Lactose-Free Dairy Line

Prairie Farms Dairy is launching a new line of lactose-free milk and dairy products in June. The offerings will include whole, 1%, 2%, low-fat, fat-free, and chocolate milk, as well as sour cream and cottage cheese. The company aims to normalize lactose-free dairy options and expand its customer base while supporting small dairy farmers facing rising operating costs.

🛩️ Giant RC Air Show Takes Off in Eureka This Weekend

Get ready for a high-flying weekend as the St. Louis Radio Control Flying Association (SLRCFA) presents their annual RC Air Show from May 31st to June 2nd. Head down to 788 Augustine Rd in Eureka to witness some of the region's largest remote-controlled aircraft in action.

Brookdale Farms announced the start of their summer float season on the Meramec River begins May 29th this week. Last week Chesterfield announced the city's Department of Public Works was re-accredited by the American Public Works Association (APWA) in 2023. Chesterfield first received this prestigious accreditation in 2015, becoming the 100th agency in North America to achieve this milestone.

The city of Eureka put out a reminder that today Meridian Waste is closed for Memorial Day. Regularly scheduled Monday routes will be serviced on Tuesday, with the rest of the week's pickups also delayed by one day.

🎖️ Hometown Hero Banners Return to Manchester

Manchester’s Hometown Hero street banners have made their comeback on the light poles along Manchester Road. The banners recognize both new and previously honored veterans from the area.

🗑️ No Trash Pickup Today

As a friendly reminder, there will be no trash service today. All garbage collection routes will be delayed by one day throughout the week.

🚦 T&C Police Boost Patrols at Intersections

The Town and Country Police Department announced it is increasing patrols near traffic lights to improve intersection safety. They put out an announcement to remind drivers to slow down at yellow lights, exercise caution when driving through intersections, and avoid running red lights.
