🚨 Town & Country Police Ramp Up I-64 Speed Patrols

The Town and Country Police Department is cracking down on speeding along I-64. Officers have caught multiple drivers exceeding 80 mph in a 60 mph zone, emphasizing that reckless speeding puts everyone at risk. In 2023, Missouri saw over 1,000 crashes caused by speeding, resulting in 400+ injuries and 50 deaths, with young drivers aged 16-24 involved in 40% of these incidents.

🏥 TriStar Proposes Development by BJC Hospital

TriStar Properties is moving forward with plans for a mixed-use development called Capri on Olive near Olive Boulevard and Mason Road. The project, located across from Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, will include 150 apartments, three commercial spaces, and a two-story medical office building on a 20-acre site. A public hearing is scheduled for tonight, with construction potentially starting early next year and taking nearly two years to complete.

🏰 Ladue Mansion Auction: Starting Bid $1.5M

Not quite in our neck of the woods, but too cool to ignore! 😎 A Ladue mansion featuring an indoor pool, basketball court, and guest house is hitting the auction block with a starting bid of $1.5 million. 🎉 Don't Miss the Senior Lifestyle Expo Tomorrow!

The 3rd Annual West County Senior Lifestyle Expo is happening tomorrow, June 11th, from 9am to 12pm at the Greensfelder Recreation Complex at Queeny Park. Admission and parking are free for all attendees. The first 300 people will receive a complimentary tote bag, and while supplies last, visitors can pick up a free copy of the 2024 West County Senior Lifestyle Magazine. Learn more here.

🍺 Good News Brewing Eyes Wildwood for New Spot

Good News Brewing is seeking approval to open a microbrewery and restaurant at the current site of West County Feed & Supply in Wildwood. The project, planned in three phases, would include a brewpub, wood-fired pizza oven, outdoor patio, and eventual event space and new brewery building. The Wildwood Planning & Zoning Commission has approved adding the use of a microbrewery and sit-down restaurant for the site, with conditions applicable upon property transfer.

🥋 Ribbon Cut at New Ali's ATA Martial Arts Dojo

Ali's ATA Martial Arts held a successful ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to celebrate their grand opening in Creve Coeur. The event, made possible by the Creve Coeur Olivette Chamber of Commerce, was attended by Mayor Bob Hoffman, students, parents, and community members. Ali's ATA Martial Arts expressed gratitude for the strong community support and looks forward to serving the area.

🍷 Barrel Blends Wine & Spirits Debuts in Valley Park

Barrel Blends Wine & Spirits celebrated its grand opening in Valley Park over the weekend. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an open house with free samples, and a ticketed pairing event. 🏆 Chesterfield Wins GFOA Budget Award for 33rd Year

The City of Chesterfield has once again been honored with the prestigious Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Award for the 33rd year in a row. This award, which recognizes the city's outstanding financial planning and transparency for the fiscal year starting January 1, 2024, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Chesterfield's finance staff. Residents can take pride in knowing that their city's resources are being managed responsibly and efficiently.

🏞️ Logan Park Chosen for Sculpture on the Move 2024

The Chesterfield City Council has approved "Gotta Practice," a bronze and stainless steel sculpture, as the 2024 Sculpture on the Move selection for Logan Park. Created by artists Lee Leuning and Sherri Tree, the piece depicts a young girl practicing violin with her patient hound by her side. The sculpture, priced at $17,000, will be installed in the park for a two-year loan period as part of the Creative Community Alliance's program to promote appreciation for art.

🌊 Millennium Park's Splash Pad & Playground Open!

Last Friday, the City of Creve Coeur announced the opening of the new splash pad and playground at Millennium Park. Residents can now enjoy this exciting new addition to the park!

Eureka

🎸 Concert on Central returns to Old Town Eureka

This Friday, Eureka will kick off its 70th anniversary celebration with the Concert on Central event in Old Town. The concert, which marks a return to its original location after a few years, is just one way the city is commemorating its incorporation on April 7, 1954. Over the past seven decades, Eureka has transformed from a small farming community to a thriving suburb, thanks in part to developments like the construction of Route 66 and the opening of Six Flags in 1971. As Eureka looks to the future, projects like the new justice center and Allenton Bridge promise to shape the city's continued growth.

🎨 Manchester Debuts New Art in the Park Pieces

As spring brings fresh air and blooming flowers to Manchester, the city is also welcoming two new stunning sculptures as part of the annual Art in the Park season. "Firefall" by Craig Snyder stands tall at the entrance of the Aquatic Center, while "Icosahedron" by Kirk Seese can be found in Stoecker Park, captivating visitors with its intricate geometric design. The sculptures, part of the Creative Communities Alliance's Sculpture on the Move Program, will be on display for the next two years, adding a touch of artistic beauty to Manchester's parks.
