🧹 Students Honor Korean War Veterans
Last Friday, 25 Parkway South students spent their day maintaining an important piece of local history. The students cleaned the Korean War Memorial in Forest Park as part of a partnership with Greater St. Louis Honor Flight. Additional students from the school took part in other service activities across the region too.
🧸 Parkway Seniors Bring Teddy Bear Joy to Kids
Three Parkway seniors recently made a difference at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Gabbie Kerber, Ava Silva, and Brynne Smith from the Spark! Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy raised over $1,000 to host a Build-A-Bear workshop for patients. After learning about siblings' challenges during hospital stays, they expanded their project to include them as well.

🏠 Assessor Zimmerman Hosting Town Halls
County Assessor Jake Zimmerman has scheduled two town halls this month for residents with questions about property assessments. The meetings will take place on April 16th (tomorrow) at the South County Police Precinct and April 23rd at the Center of Clayton. Both sessions will begin at 6:30pm and will cover the 2025 reassessment process with local council members as co-hosts.

Missouri's Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday will run April 19-25, eliminating state and local sales taxes on Energy Star-certified appliances up to $1,500 each. Qualifying items include washing machines, refrigerators, furnaces, and dishwashers—but not wine coolers or trash compactors.

🎓 Rockwood Education Board Reorganizes
Sarah Boyer and Dr. Mara Vorachek-Warren were sworn in as Rockwood School Board members last week. Boyer fills Izzy Imig's vacated seat while Vorachek-Warren begins her first full term. The board unanimously voted to keep Lynne Midyett as president and Tammy Rhomberg as vice president for the 2025-2026 school year.

🌟 Parkway Announces Annual Award Winners
Parkway has named eight individuals as Pillars of Parkway for 2025, recognizing their contributions to education. 🌅 Morning Yoga Coming to Bluebird Park
Ellisville Parks and Recreation is offering yoga classes from May through July at the Bluebird Park Amphitheater. Classes will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7am, featuring Vinyasa-style yoga. If interested, register online here.

🏛️ Eureka's New Gov Hub Makes Grand Debut
The new Eureka Government Center opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Saturday. The facility now houses the Police Department, Municipal Court, and City Hall in one building. This centralized location will serve as the new headquarters for these essential city services.
Manchester
🏛️ Manchester Marks Paul Revere's Historic Ride
Manchester residents have a chance to experience American history next week. The city is hosting a ceremony on April 18th at 1pm at City Hall to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride. The free event will include a reading of Longfellow's poem, ceremonial lantern lighting, and serves as part of the city's Civic Season calendar.
🔦 Nighttime Egg Hunt Set for Thursday
Manchester's adult egg hunt is scheduled for Thursday evening at Schroeder Park. Previously delayed due to weather conditions, the 21+ event will begin at 7:30pm and will proceed regardless of rain. Participants should bring their own baskets, flashlights, and refreshments. Tickets are $13 will limited spots remain still available here.
