🏗️ Woods Mill Center Plan Heads to a Vote
A revised development plan for Woods Mill Center is under review in Town & Country. After withdrawing an earlier 68-home proposal, developers have returned with a mixed-use concept that includes both residential and retail space. The $100,000 project includes funding for new sidewalk connections to nearby communities.
🏠 County Issues Senior Tax Freeze Alert
St. Louis County Executive Sam Page has issued an important warning about unauthorized senior tax freeze enrollment events. The county is directing seniors to avoid any sign-up events not officially approved by St. Louis County government. Officials are developing proper guidelines and procedures for the program, which will be announced early next year.
🌪️ County Studies Weather Protection
St. Louis County officials are developing a new plan to protect local communities from extreme weather. The county will use $765,000 from the NFL settlement to hire consultants who will study how climate change affects our area. The project includes input from residents and will take about two years to complete.

🎯 Schnucks Shoppers Power $135K United Way Gift
A recent checkout campaign at Schnucks stores resulted in $135,675 in donations for United Way. The two-week Round Up program, running from September 18 to October 1, collected customer donations across all Midwest locations. Funds will directly support United Way chapters and their 24/7 helpline in each donor community.
🏥 Mercy Launches New Insurance Partner
Mercy has formed a partnership with insurance company Centivo to offer a new health plan option for local employers. The plan features no-cost primary care visits and upfront pricing transparency. Mercy's system has already demonstrated significant cost savings in other programs, reducing healthcare spending by $250 million.

🌞 Ameren Plans New Solar Site
Missouri state regulators have approved Ameren's plans for a new solar facility in New Florence. The 7-megawatt solar center, scheduled to begin construction in spring 2025, will become the utility company's third solar installation in the region when it opens in 2026.

A new art contest is giving Ballwin's children a chance to contribute to their community. The city is accepting banner design submissions from kids ages 4-12 that illustrate why they enjoy living in Ballwin. 🖼️ City Hall Opens Doors to Artist Community
Chesterfield City Hall is transforming its halls into a canvas for local creativity. The 2025 Art Exhibit will feature works from St. Louis area artists in both 2D and 3D media, with pieces displayed throughout the building's first floor and upper level. Each exhibit runs for 12 weeks, celebrating the region's history, culture, and natural diversity.

🚒 Eureka Crews Stop Gas Station Fire
A recreational vehicle caught fire at the Quick Trip on East Fourth Street in Eureka Saturday afternoon, prompting an emergency response. Fire crews contained the blaze, which had spread to the gas station's canopy. The RV owner and two police officers received medical attention for minor injuries at the scene.
Firefighters quickly extinguished an RV fire next to a gas pump Saturday afternoon at a Quick Trip in Eureka.

🌱 New Garden Enhances Eureka High
Environmental science students at Eureka High School have established a new native plant garden on campus. The project, which began as a class assignment two years ago, now features over 300 Missouri-native seedlings. Teachers and students collaborated to transform an underutilized space into an environmental learning area.

🎁 Holiday Fair Bringing 50+ Artisans to Wildwood
Over 50 local artisans are bringing their unique creations to Wildwood Town Center this upcoming Saturday (November 2nd). The outdoor Holiday Artisan Fair will feature everything from handcrafted jewelry to local honey, plus a special appearance by Santa from 12pm to 2pm. Visitors can also spread holiday cheer by donating food items or toys for local charities.
